Cincinnati Art Museums Annual Report

Art, reframed

with intention

A minimal editorial design highlighting artwork and vision.

Spotlighting the artwork. Supporting the story.

This project, developed at Murray State University, challenged me to create an annual report layout that honored the Cincinnati Art Museum’s existing visual identity while making space for the art itself to shine. The solution was a clean, minimal layout designed to feel timeless and elegant—using structure, typography, and white space as tools to amplify the visual content rather than compete with it.

Capturing growth, mission, and momentum.

The report wasn’t just a recap of fiscal year 2019—it was an invitation to see the museum’s future. The design needed to reflect the museum’s evolving role in the contemporary art world while remaining authentic to its heritage. Using the organization’s existing style guide, I built a visual system that supported clarity, coherence, and storytelling across each spread.

Design that informs, persuades, and endures.

Every design decision—margin, typeface, spacing—was made with the reader in mind. The layout moves with rhythm and restraint, leading with intentional visual hierarchy and refined typographic balance. The final result is a publication that feels as carefully curated as the exhibitions it represents.

Less can say more—when done with purpose.

This project deepened my understanding of editorial design as a storytelling tool. It taught me how to work within existing brand systems while finding space for fresh perspective. The experience helped shape how I think about hierarchy, pacing, and how design can quietly serve a much bigger narrative.
